Living in Power

 “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory and blessing”. Rev. 5:12 

Believe it or not- there is a purpose for your life here on earth. You are not a product of some cosmic assembly line, you are unique. There are over 7billion people on the earth today, searching for meaning and significance in life, believing deep inside that they were born to do more than to survive, make a living and die. Perhaps, you may have once asked yourself this question “There has to be more to me than this”. You are not alone. Myles Munroe once said, “The value in each human is the gift they were born to deliver to humanity”

However, as great as our potentials may be, our connection to the source of all living is the first step towards the realisation of our purpose for living.

The most important fact of your purpose or identity is that God created you in His own image. (Genesis 1:27).

This is true whether you believe it or not, whether you are religious or not, whether you live in this consciousness or not . The next question that comes to mind is that if God is the one that created these billions of people all over the world, why so much chaos, pain and destruction of lives and property? Why do people die? Why do we lose our loved ones? Why do the “bad ones” seem to get away? Has God lost control?

The answer to all these questions and many more is simple: CHOICES! Everyone in the world is given the power of choice by God. But whatever our choice for living is, it carries a price tag called, “CONSEQUENCES”.

God says, “today I am giving you a choice of two ways, and I ask heaven and earth to be witness of your choice. You can choose life and death. The first choice will bring a blessing the other choice will bring a curse. So choose life!. Then you and your children will live. Deut. 30:19 (ERV)

Therefore, living in power is a choice. This means, when economic troubles, family struggles, political uproars, and natural disaster take centre stage, you can be rest assured with an inner peace that passes all understanding that you have the power to live in victory

through it all. But whether or not we make ourselves available to that power is the question. In the opening scriptures above , the lamb that was slain is Jesus who laid down His life to restore whatever we have lost to sin and consequences of our wrong choices, Jesus came to restore to us. This includes restoration of power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and blessing.

You will be amazed how your life will take a new turn just by making a choice not to live by your own strength but to live in the power of the Spirit of God available to those who have a relationship with the Son of God –Jesus Christ.

In summary, know this, that you are a creature of purpose, created by God who loves you so much that he sent His Son (Jesus) who laid down His life to give you a life that is full and good. (John 10:10)

The only condition is your choice. A choice to live in sickness, debt, addition, divorce, depression, frustration, defeat or to live in the power of God.

Friend, I encourage you to make a decision to live in power from this day and it begins by accepting Jesus into your heart as your Lord and personal Saviour.

To accept Jesus Christ into your life, please pray this  ‘salvation prayer’ with me;

Father, I thank you for sending Jesus Christ to die for my sins and rise from the dead so that I can know Your forgiveness and live with You forever. Right now I ask Jesus Christ to be my Saviour so I can live as the special creation that You intended. Thank you Lord for saving me, in Jesus name. Amen.
